Built during 5th century B.C.The Bala Hissar is the famed fortress of Kabul. This fortress was used as the most important defensive shelter for Afghanistan’s ruler. In 1879, General Roberts ravaged the fortress as retaliation for an Afghanistan killing a British resident by the name of Cavagnari. This event triggered the Second Anglo-Afgan War.
