Osama Bin Laden Assasination is a Win Win for Afghanistan

The recent killing of Osama bin Laden is hoped by many in Kabul and across Afghanistan to bring a change of spirits to the country. According to MyWebSearch Logs written by Abida Ali, there has long been cooperation between the ISI and other security apparatuses like the CIA.  Other news agencies are reporting that the ISI might be using the seeming slip up as a cover for their tight work with American and NATO forces.

Bin Laden’s death comes at a critical time for Western backed troops in Afghanistan and it is hoped that the worst is behind Kabul and Afghanistan.

Kabul Bank

The coverage of Kabul bank stretches over nine provinces and controls twenty three branches within this banking network. The branches are spread over Kabul and eight other provinces. The bank offers loans as it allows for customers to access it through the SWIFT facility. The bank has international relations with some of the important and recognized international banks and is the major agent of the Western Union Money Transfer.

Kabul Leaders: Amir Habibyllah Ghazi

Kabul Amir Habibyllah GhaziAmir Habibullah Ghazi was an Afghan king born in 1890 and began to rule the country in 1929. Amir Habibullah Ghazi became the king aftre Inayat Ullah. Ghazi was a Tajik who was considered the “son of the water bearer” by the Pashtuns and the greatest Afghan king by the Tajiks.

Amir Habibullah Ghazi of Afghanistan had a central role in the civil revolt that took place in 1928. This civil revolt led him to ascend and reach the level of King.

Kabul Zoo

kabul-zooKabul Zoo opened its doors in 1967. The department of zoological museum became connected to the Zoo in 1968. The Kabul Zoo is one of the most popular places in Kabul.

The Kabul Zoo is open  everyday from 6am to 6pm. The zoo’s entrance is 10 Af for Afghanis and 100 AF for foreign visitors.

Polytechnic University of Kabul began in 1963 and has a variety of departments. These include eight general and 11 professional departments. The main streams of Polytechnic University of Kabul are lectromechanics, geology,  mining, and construction are the main streams of Polytechnic University of Kabul.

Kabul Event: Mawleed al-Nabi

The birth anniversary of the holy prophet is known as Mawleed al Nabi.  According to the Islamic lunar calender it is observed on the 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal. Celebrating Mawleed al-Nabi in Kabul holds special significance for the Muslims due to the reverence they give to the holy prophet Muhammad. Despite this there are restrictions in celebrating Mawleed al-Nabi in Kabul.

Kabul Festival: Eid ul-Adha

One of the most important events in Kabul is Eid ul-Adha.  Celebrated in the month following Ramzan, Eid ul-Adha is observed on the 10th day of the month. Sheeps, goats, and camels, are some of the animals sacrificed during Eid ul-Adha in Kabul by those who have gone on the Hajj.

Kabul Golf Club

The Kabul Golf Club opened its doors in 1967. The Soviet Union closed the Kabul Golf Club 1978. This golf club opened once again in 2004.  Due to neglect after so many years of non-use, the Kabul Golf Club  was refurbished properly before re-opening and now is an excellent place to play golf.

Kabul Scenery: Paghman Garden

Beautifully designed in European style, the Paghman garden resembles the same style.  Many of  the garden’s buildings were built by German and French architects in western Kabul. Unfortunately, the Paghman garden of Kabul turned from a place of peace to a place of of war as it formed into battleground for the Mujaheddins. Although some remains of the Paghman garden still exist it has  lost much of its original style.

The Fortress of Kabul: Bala Hissar

Built during 5th century B.C.The Bala Hissar is the famed fortress of Kabul. This fortress was used as the most important defensive shelter for Afghanistan’s ruler. In 1879, General Roberts ravaged the fortress as retaliation for an Afghanistan killing a British resident by the name of Cavagnari. This event triggered the  Second Anglo-Afgan War.
